“I love the donuts here - the best I've had in the area. I'm not usually a donut fan, but I've gone out of my way to pick up donuts here on the way to somewhere. With a drive-thru window open 24 hours every day, it's always there when you need a decent donut.
The gimmick donut is the maple bacon bar, and it's very good, using chopped real crisp bacon. The basic donuts are terrific as well, however. The dough is extremely light, fluffy, and fresh-tasting. The cream in the filled donuts is amazing; it tastes like a dense, smooth whipped cream rather than a slick, overly sweet corn-syrup fluff. The fritters are flavorful and crispy on the edges. The French crullers are puffy and eggy, as they should be. The old-fashioneds are pleasantly crusty but surprisingly light in the center; it's my favorite type of donut, and they're often dry or dense, but not here. They serve excellent coffee from local roaster Dillano's as a tasty counterpoint…Give Dockside a try, especially when it suits your plans to pick up something to go.”
